JORI KERR
SOPHOMORE • OUTFIELDER
Jori Kerr, Central HS, Independence, OR.
Kerr lead the way for the Cardinals who finished their week 4-0-1. The sophomore outfielder finished with a .529 average to go with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. In their final game of the weekend, she belted a 9 inning go-ahead home run to edge 2nd-ranked Mt. Hood 5-3.
"Jori is a discipline hitter that has produced runs for us all year," said Cardinal head coach Don Don Williams. "She is a great leader for our team and pushes her teammates everyday."
NWAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - APRIL 23
Cecilia Robbins, Kamiak HS, Mukilteo, WA.
The Freshman starter helped extend Edmonds’ 12-game win streak with 2 complete games on the weekend. Against both Clackamas and Clark, Robbins scattered 11 hits while only giving up 3 earned runs in both games while fanning 7. She improves her resume to 13-0 on the season with a respectable 3.51 ERA.
“With returning sophomore pitcher Riley Sykes slowed by a hamstring injury, CeeCee has stepped up and carried us on the mound," said Triton head coach Chuck Stark. "She’s got great composure and is confident in all of her pitches. It’s been a lot of fun watching her compete and interact on and off the field with her teammates. It’s kind of overlooked, but she’s also been outstanding fielding her position.”
