Skagit Valley WBB veteran skipper Steve Epperson notches win #900

MT. VERNON -- Last Saturday, Skagit Valley women's basketball head coach Steve Epperson registered his 900th collegiate win.
Epperson began his coaching career at Skagit Valley in 1977 and is currently in his 42nd season leading the Cardinals.
With another win this past Wednesday against Shoreline, his record now stands at 901-306.
Epperson has helped bring 21 North Region titles to SVC along with a record 31 NWAACC/NWAC tournament appearances. Twenty-six of those years have been with long time assistant Deb Castle.
He also led the Cardinals to 4 NWAACC championships ('88, '94, '96 and '98) and three runner-up finishes in '93, '01 and '09.
The team and many former players will celebrate the occasion in a post game celebration following SVC's home game on February 9th as the Cardinals take on the Bellevue Bulldogs.
